Twice the pandemic put a halt to the conference plans, but the dates have now been set for IASSIST 2022. Taking place on 7–10 June, the conference will be a hybrid event with in-person meetings in Gothenburg and virtual participation.
The IASSIST conference focuses on data-related questions in social science and open science. It is an annual event, held in various locations around the world, which normally attracts hundreds of participants. Now it’s coming to Gothenburg, with SND as host organisation.
—We think that it will now be possible to organise a conference next summer where the partipants can be there in person. Many people are longing to meet up again, and personally I’m really looking forward to this. But we also want to give those who maybe can’t travel the opportunity to participate, says Iris Alfredsson, member of the local committee at SND.
Contribute to the conference!
IASSIST (International Association for Social Science Information Service and Technology) is a member-driven organisation and the conference is based on the participants' work. If you want to contribute to IASSIST 2022, you can submit a proposal for articles, presentations, panels, posters, and workshops. You don’t have to be a member of the organisation to submit a proposal, but members get a reduced conference fee.
The main theme for the conference is “Data by Design – Building a Sustainable Data Culture”. There will be other sub-themes, such as “Partnerships and collaborations”, “Data management and archiving”, “Data access, governance and ethics”, and “Data services of the future”. We particularly welcome proposals that relate to those topics.
Deadline for submission of papers and proposals is 7 December.
