Data with personal information in DORIS
Research data that contain personal data, or personal information, cannot be made openly accessible. If your research data contain personal data, they can be described and made visible through SND’s DORIS only if your organization has an agreement with SND for this purpose. The organizations with such an agreement are listed below. If you belong to an organization that does not support making personal data visible in DORIS, you must ensure that the data are anonymized before you describe and share them.
When you describe research data in DORIS, you must:
- Specify the level of access for the data. For data that should not be shared openly, select “Access to data is restricted” in Section 1 of the web form in DORIS (see Describe data in DORIS, step 1).
- Indicate whether the dataset contains personal data or other protected information, also under Section 1 of the form in DORIS (see Describe data in DORIS, step 1).
- If you indicate that the dataset contains personal data or other protected information, you must also specify the type of personal or protected data, and whether the data include special categories of personal data (sensitive personal data under GDPR).
Documentation files and metadata are always openly accessible in the research data catalogue and therefore must not contain personal data or other protected information.
