Welcome to SND's autumn network meeting in Malmö, 22–23 October 2025

This autumn’s network meeting will be hosted by Malmö University, with two key themes in focus. On the first day, we will concentrate on the KAFFE project, which is now approaching its conclusion. We will highlight the project’s most significant results and discuss its potential future impact. The second day will be devoted to the theme AI in the research data process – what role can AI play in the work with research data, and what new opportunities might the technology offer?

As usual, we are offering several workshops; see the descriptions further down the page.
And as usual, we will round off the first day with a dinner together!

A detailed programme with times and venues will be available a few weeks before the networking event.
If you would like to attend in person, please register by 7 October at the latest.

Workshops

Day 1, 22 October

10.00–12.00 - SND for beginners (in Swedish)

An introduction to SND and the work with open access to research data.

Contact: Sara Svensson, SND.

Day 2, 23 October

12.30–15.00 - Train-the-Trainer: Find, access and evaluate research data for reuse (in English)

Would you like to run the Data Reuse workshop from Session 3 of the course Open Science in the Swedish Context 2025? This Train-the-trainer workshop will help you understand how the Data Reuse workshop is structured, how to use the pptx/pdf material, and the pedagogical philosophy of the workshop. We will discuss practical considerations, build your confidence in delivering the material, and think about contextual adaptation for different disciplines, educational contexts and audiences.

Both the Train-the-Trainer workshop and the Data Reuse workshop are in English.

Contact: David Rayner, SND

12.30–15.00 - How can the archive help researchers do the right thing in archiving matters? (in Swedish)

When researchers want to comply with the imposed regulatory requirements, they often experience a time conflict where they have insufficient time for administrative work. How can support functions assist in simplifying administrative tasks?

In this workshop, we will discuss a proposed checklist that can facilitate researchers' document management – how should one think when it comes to clearing, sorting and preserving? The checklist will be sent out to all the network's archivists for comments and feedback.

Participants: Margareta Ödmark and Hanna Höie (archivists), Anna Axmon, Madeleine Dutoit and Elisabeth Strandhagen (researchers and SND employees)

Contact: Elisabeth Strandhagen, SND.

12.30–15.00 - Verktyg för forskningsorganisationer som vill spåra sina tillgängliggjorda forskningsdata (in Swedish)

Ambitions for open science, a revised view of research evaluation and new legal requirements are encouraging Swedish research organisations to keep track of published research data. Come and try out a tool that is currently being developed as part of the flagship project ‘Traceable Research Data’ and see which research data can be linked to your own organisation. Help us discuss information needs, methodology and improvements.
