The popular commissioned training in research data management – “Forskningsdata: tillgänglighet, hantering och samverkan” – is back and will be repeated beginning in March next year. The course is organized by Borås University in collaboration with SND and is designated for all who work in research data support for researchers.
The course, which was last given as a virtual training in spring 2021, will now have four in-person sessions in an ALC, or Active Learning Classroom, at the Swedish School of Library and Information Science at Borås University:
- Wednesday 15–Thursday 16 March
- Wednesday 19–Thursday 20 April
- Tuesday 16–Wednesday 17 May
- Wednesday 14–Thursday 15 June
The course is a commissioned education, which means that the HEIs will pay for their staff who take the course. The course fee is SEK16,500 (VAT not included) per person, not including costs for travel and lodging. 24 participants will be accepted, and applications have to be in by Friday 10 February. The course directors are Pieta Eklund and Thomas Nyström at Borås University.
This course builds on knowledge from SND’s introductory course in research data management, BAS Online. It contains elements such as the scientific research process in various disciplines, with a view on how to structure and work in a DAU/research data support unit; consulting with researchers on research data management; important issues in how to preserve, disseminate, and reuse research data, data management plans, and ethical and legal aspects of research data.
