The SND Network

The SND Network consists of most Swedish universities and several other research organizations. These members have established local research data support units, known as Data Access Units (DAUs). SND serves as a knowledge hub and provides central support to the local units.

The primary role of the local DAUs is to help researchers make their research data accessible in accordance with the FAIR principles of data being Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable. In practice, this means providing training and support for researchers in sustainable data management and assisting in making data and metadata available via Researchdata.se or other equivalent systems.

Each member institution in the SND Network operates independently in developing and maintaining its local research data support unit. The level of development varies between institutions, but all have access to SND’s expertise and resources, including advisory support from the SND main office, SND's pages on data management on Researchdata.se, and BAS Online – SND's foundational web-based training for DAU staff.

SND and the network members maintain close collaboration through regular network meetings and webinars, and active participation in working groups and specialist networks. The SND Network also has a collaboration space on the Basecamp platform for knowledge exchange.

Below, you will find a list of the institutions that are members of the SND Network. Many of these institutions provide information on their own websites, allowing you to follow the development of research data management across Sweden. The list also includes links to the research data support units at most of these institutions.
