The study "Ngoni - Language, Culture and Sociolinguistic Situation" (SND 0970) consists of a number of recordings in the Tanzanian minority language Ngoni and transcriptions of these recordings.
The recordings were made by means of so-called photo elicitation where informants are asked to look at photos and describe what they see.
The two datasets are about traditional and modern objects respectively and a comparison between them is may be able to show whether conversations about modern objects contain more code-switching to the majority language Swahili.
