On June 14th the Research Data Alliance (RDA) Europe arranged the event “RDA Meets Nordic Researchers”, an information meeting where different parties interested in open access to research data were invited to discuss questions concerning the re-use of data. The meeting gathered over 30 participants, and included presentations and discussions, e.g. about why RDA is important, how RDA’s groups work, and how the collaboration assists in the work towards making data more accessible. The presentations held during the meeting are available at https://www.rd-alliance.org/rda-meets-nordic-researchers-14-june-2017.
RDA is a community-driven organisation, with the aim of assisting in the development of data access and re-use. Four years ago they had their first Plenary Meeting in Gothenburg. At this event about 250 people from almost 50 different countries met to start up a collaboration which now includes over 5700 members from 128 countries. On the 12th-14th of June 2017 the chairman of several working- and interest groups returned to Gothenburg to arrange RDA’s seventh Working Group/Interest Group Collaboration Meeting.
