In order to gain knowledge about how students value their education, but also how they view society, the SOM Institute asks questions every autumn to the students at the University of Gothenburg's Faculty of Social Sciences.

Student-SOM has been implemented since 1993 with the main purpose of finding out how students perceive their education and the study social environment at the University of Gothenburg. In addition, the study aims to give a picture of who is studying at the university and why.
