Description
The study consists of three parts:
1) Collection of data on lifestyle factors by a self-administered web-based questionnaire
2) Visit to a test center for collection of blood samples and recording of physiological parameters
3) The population is followed in registers for occurence of predefined emdpoints.
Repeated collection of data by means of web-based questionnaires and visits to test centra is planned for every 5th and 10th year, respectively, following the baseline investigation.
The study was approved by The Swedish Data Inspection Board (No. 307-2011).

Purpose:
The primary objectives of the EpiHealth study is to provide a resource to study interactions between genotypes and lifestyle factors in a large cohort (aim is 300,000 individuals) derived from the Swedish population in the age range 45-75 years regarding development of common degenerative disorders.
The study is planned to screen 300,000 individuals in Sweden with an age between 45 and 75 years. The data collection is ongoing and takes place via EpiHealth Test Centre in Uppsala and Malmö. In 2011 a pilot study was carried out, including the first 1000 subjects. In April 2015, 20,000 subjects were included. Show less..
