Description

Patients, diagnosed with spondyloarthritis, were identified through the healthcare system in Region Scania between 2003-2007. The cohort responded to two questionnaires, 2009 and 2011. The first questionnaire was answered by 2785 respondents (48 %) and the second was answered by 2037 respondents (58 %). The questionnaires consisted of validated instruments as well as separate issues (for example patient characteristics, demographics, lifestyle, physical activity, fatigue and pain, health-related quality of life, depression and anxiety, self-efficacy, work and issues related to health economics).

Purpose:

The aim is to create a longitudinal cohort of patients with spondyloarthritis and study the consequences of the disease on individuals and society.

Scanians older than 18 years who sought treatment between 2003 and 2007 and received a spondyloarthritis-related diagnostics at least once by a specialist in rheumatology or internal medicine alternatively at least twice by a physician with other skills.
