Description
A clinical examination of a subgroup of women in the Swedish mammography cohort living in Uppsala was conducted between 2003 and 2009. The cycle of re-examination for this group started in year 2015 and is ongoing. For women living in Västerås a clinical examination were conducted between 2010 and 2019. The re-examination for women in Västerås is pending but the aim is to start during 2022. In connection to the clinical visit the participants have filled in health and lifestyle questionnaires, and blood, urine, faeces and adipose tissue has been collected at the visit together with functional tests (e.g. memory test, gait speed and muscle strength) and biometric measures (height, weight, body composition).

Between 2010 and 2019 women in the Swedish Mammography Cohort living in the county of Västmanland received a diet, health and lifestyle questionnaire and a one-day food diary with an invitation to participate in a health examination. During the nine years a total of 2,630 women visited the clinic in Västerås, of which 1,062 were living with a man participating in the male clinical subcohort of the Cohort of Swedish Men. The health examination included weight, height, waist, hip, blood pressure measurement and body composition measurement using a bio-electrical impedance scale. Samples of fasting blood, urine, fecal sample and adipose tissue were also collected at the health exam. Show less..
