Description
The Hälsosam project is an unpublished targeted survey of health and work environmental factors in a group of female professionals in the Municipality of Huddinge (1997-2001).
The Occupational health physician in the municipality who considered female employees in the childcare services vulnerable in terms of health initiated the study. The municipal Work Environment Committee (1997) delegated the conduct of the targeted survey to the Occupational Health Care Service (Företagshälsovården).
The project is presented in two documents: Hälsosam and Intervention 4.
The report consists of more than 100 tables interpreting collected data, which contain working environment and body measurements, blood tests and interviews. The entire occupational group's health and working environment has been described.
The surveys were conducted as a Field Work Study (97-09-01) where three nursing teams visited the municipality's schools, preschools and after school centers. 1,162 women with 19 different occupational roles in the childcare sector were examined during personal meetings.

During the years, 1997-2001 four different interventions were carried out.
1. Dietary intervention, aimed at the entire occupational group.
2. Three months of Diary-driven exercise,
3. Medical therapy Pravastatin
4. A ten-week Training Program with two methods for weight reduction.
The efforts were partly a primary and secondary medical prevention but were also intended to provide a basis for the continued work environment work in the Huddinge Municipality.
