Description
NOTE: This dataset does not meet SND's nominal standards for data reusability.
For each point the fetch in 8 directions is used. Fetches are stored in one file. Corrections are made for ice or no ice. If ice concentration is > 50% no waves are created. The winds are taken from a database based on geostrofic winds and downscaled to 10m by a simple formula. Time resolution 3h.
Contact SMHI for further information regarding the dataset.
Data are largely unstructured but divided according to year and to a certain degree also after locality. FIles can be opened in MatLab. Explanations to included variables are missing. Used formulas for wave calculations are described in the included readme file. All files are available as compressed in a single zip format for for distribution purposes, with a compression rate of approximately 30%.
