SUMMARY:Nordic webinar series: Policy and practice in the development of open science (Sweden)
DESCRIPTION:\n\nSND hosts a Nordic Webinar Series focusing on policy and practice in the development of open science and research data management across the Nordic countries.\n\nThe aim of this webinar series is to get a broad, inexhaustive, picture of the Nordic landscape, considering mutual and collaborative goals, and achieving national and European targets. The webinars will be publicly accessible, but the target audience is administrators and researchers from across all four countries.\n\nFollowing the previous three seminars (Norway (https://snd.gu.se/sv/nordic-webinar-series-policy-and-practice-development-open-science-norway) , Denmark (https://snd.gu.se/sv/nordic-webinar-series-policy-and-practice-development-open-science-denmark) , Finland (https://snd.gu.se/sv/nordic-webinar-series-policy-and-practice-development-open-science-finland) ), aimed at the SND-network, SND will hold a reciprocal webinar for the wider Nordic audience, focusing on the development of open science in Sweden.\n\nIn this webinar, representatives from Sweden will present cases, anecdotes, and policies, both in effect and in the making, in each of their respective countries.The1,5-hour webinar will address research data management from three perspectives.\n\nFirstly, from the perspective of policy-makers (SUHF (https://suhf.se/in-english/) and the Swedish Research Council (https://www.vr.se/english.html) ) what is the general landscape in Sweden; how does it look currently, what are the next steps and in what direction do policy makers, institutions, and researcher’s wish to take in future.\n\nSecondly, from a slightly narrower perspective, what are we in the SND-network doing in an infrastructural sense; what is being done and how and where can knowledge and policy exchange take place for the betterment of practice in Sweden.\n\nLastly, but far from least, how does research data management look from an administrative perspective at university level (Lund university (https://www.lunduniversity.lu.se/) ); what successes or hindrances are there to the FAIRifying of research data and who is guiding and educating researchers on what they need in terms of repositories, data management planning, and so on.\n\nSpeakers\n\nSanja Halling and Sumithra Velupillai, Senior Research Officers, Swedish Research Council.\n\nSabina Anderberg, Senior advisor, The Association of Swedish Higher Education Institutions (SUHF).\n\nEva Stensköld, Deputy Director Swedish National Data Service (SND).\n\nPer Runeson, Professor in software engineering and member of the Lund University working group for open science, Lund University\n\n \n\n\nWhen: 9 February, 10.00-11.30\n\nWhere: Zoom (link will be provided shortly)\n\nContact: William Ilsley\n\nhttps://snd.se/en/nordic-webinar-series-policy-and-practice-development-open-science-sweden
